  • Botanical Garden Wedding
  • From "How To I Do"
    episode DHTI-104

Bride-to-be Kimberly Fraser and fiancé, Dennis, got engaged at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, NC, and knew the lush setting (featuring gardens, a courtyard and an indoor atrium seating 100) would be perfect for their romantic day.

To save money, Fraser employed her own DIY skills -- and enlisted family and friends -- to help with the wedding and reception décor. Fraser purchased roses in bulk to create boutonneires, the bridal party bouquets and centerpieces. Dinner tables were named for gardens at the site, and Fraser printed the table cards herself. Each table featured a disposable camera, a music CD favor and floral-themed placecards.

The gathering of friends and family to create the centerpieces and floral arrangements can be part of the wedding festivities.
