Rock candy syrup is the sweet secret behind two tasty drinks best enjoyed — how else? — on the rocks.
    Ingredients (Firefly):

    1/2 lime
    1 oz. rum
    ginger beer
rock candy syrup, made by dissolving 2 parts sugar in 1 part water on the stove
    ice

Squeeze half a lime over ice in a lowball glass (figure A). Pour in 1 oz. dark rum, fill the glass halfway with ginger beer, top with a dash of rock candy syrup and stir (figure B).
