    Ice-Sculpture Centerpiece

    It's fire meets ice as candles are added to easy-to-make molds with fruit and other decorations frozen inside.

    Ice-Sculpture Centerpiece
    Materials:

    1 empty half-gal. cardboard milk or juice container
    tall pillar candle
    water
    scissors
    shallow bowl
    masking tape
    optional decorations: dried flowers, fruits, small flowers, toys

    1. Thoroughly clean the carton and cut away the top (figure A).

    2. Center the candle in the empty container. Add water to desired height (approximately 1/2 to 3/4 up the candle) (figure B).

    3. Add optional decorative objects around the edge of the milk carton (figure C). Secure the candle with masking tape, taped to the outer edge of the carton, if needed.

    4. Freeze the carton until the ice is a solid block (overnight). Remove the centerpiece from the carton by quickly dipping the carton in warm water and peeling away the paper (figure D). Store the arrangement in the freezer until ready to use.

    5. Display the centerpiece in a shallow bowl with additional greenery or flowers around the edge (figure E).
