    From "Creative Juice"
    episode DCRJ-313

Cathie Filian and Steve Piacenza are finding crafty new uses for old containers. They turn a plain metal tin into a magnetic tic-tac-toe set perfect for long road trips, combine fire and ice to make a beautiful frozen centerpiece, turn old lipstick into money-saving lipgloss and show off some imaginative ways to keep track of all those crafting supplies.

    Tic-Tac-Toe Games
    Materials:

    tin CD box
10 buttons (2 different colors, 5 of each)
    10 magnet discs
    E6000 glue
    Aleene’s Stop Fraying
    1/8"-wide ribbon
    metal-embellishment glue
metal scrapbook letters (Xs and Os)
    2 colors embroidery floss

    1. Remove the sleeves for the CDs inside the case (figure A).

    2. To make the game, cut the ribbons into 4 strips that will fit across the front of the case. Add a little Stop-Fray on the cut edges of the ribbon to prevent raveled edges (figure B). Use metal-embellishment glue to attach the ribbon in a tic-tac-toe grid to the top of the case (figure C).

    3. Glue X and O scrapbook letters on top of intersecting points of the ribbon (figure D).

    4. For game pieces, using embroidery floss, stitch either an X or O through the holes on the buttons (figure E). Use E6000 glue to fasten magnets to the backs of the button Xs and Os (figure F). Let the game pieces dry for 24 hours.
