    Graffiti Clothes Hook

    Materials:

    wooden clothes-hook plaque (purchased at the crafts store)
    acrylic craft paint
    spray paint in various colors
    large letter stencils
    blue painter's tape
    face mask

    1. Using acrylic craft paint, paint hooks a base color and let dry.

    2. Use letter stencils to spell out a name, saying or quote (figure A). Attach the edges of each stencil to the hook with painter's tape.

    3. In a well-ventilated area, while wearing a face mask, apply a thick layer of spray paint to each letter. Immediately remove stencil and let plaque dry vertically to help facilitate paint drips.

    4. If desired, reapply stencils and use additional colors of spray paint to create highlights. If desired, add rhinestones and other embellishments (figure B).
